Acid Etch (Satin Frost)
Acid Etch glass is a translucent glass which offers a soft diffusion of light through a satin like finish etched into the surface. Silhouettes are subtly obscured and lines softened to provide countless opportunities for both internal and external applications. Having similar light transmission properties to clear glass, acid etched glass facilitates the need for privacy without compromising the need for natural Light. Available in both clear and low iron glass substrates, FGS Glass offers its own brand of products to help customers to easily identify the right glass for their needs. FGS’s Satin Frost and low iron Crystal Frost will add a luxurious and versatile finish to any room, bathroom or exterior setting.

Alternative to Satin Frost
Satin Frost is acid etched on a standard piece of clear glass. Due to the relatively high iron content of clear glass, it has a definite green tinge within the glass. In some applications, the green tinge can be a distraction from the effect you are trying to create. FGS Glass also offer an acid etched glass that is on a low iron glass. This product is called Crystal Frost and it gives a much more aesthetically pleasing effect. With diffused whites looking white instead of green. We have attached some photos below to show the difference between the two products, although the photos do not do full justice to the difference, it will give you an idea. The difference between the two products is approx 20-25%.
